About Qikiqtaaluk AEDC
Inuit-Led Partnership
Qikiqtaaluk AEDC advances large-scale Arctic infrastructure through disciplined planning, Inuit-led governance, and a clear focus on viability, venture capital opportunities and timely delivery.
It is a partnership led and controlled by Qikiqtaaluk Corporation (QC) who have been advocating and advancing the port in terms of planning and development for the last 15 years.
How Qikiqtaaluk AEDC works
We identify infrastructure gaps that limit economic opportunity and Arctic capacity, then develop projects that are feasible, financeable, and aligned with Inuit and national priorities.
Each project follows a structured pathway:
Inuit-led governance and rights-holder alignment
Early regulatory and technical readiness
Defined capital and delivery models
Clear construction and operations timelines
This approach ensures projects are credible to governments, investable for partners, and deliverable in Arctic conditions.
Building a project portfolio
While the Qikiqtarjuaq Deep Sea Port is the current focus, Qikiqtaaluk AEDC’s mandate extends beyond a single asset. The organization is positioned to advance additional Inuit-led infrastructure projects that support long-term regional development, Arctic sovereignty, and economic resilience.
